How much does everyone like freewebs.com

Ive been using FreeWebs.com (http://www.freewebs.com/) for quite a while now, and my friend insists on tripod.com, so which one do you guys think is better and why?

well, i think tripod UK is pretty good, but it has ads.

i think freewebs has ads too now, but my old accts don't. :D

I think simply the fact that every time the site Free Webs is mentioned by Tripodrule/freewebsrules/scarletice it's always hyperlinked... just a little too consistant... plus the name's: Tripodrule and Freewebsrule, very similar... both registered on the same day, which also incidentally is the day the FreeWebs advertising starts...

Well, I have to say I like neither. But I used tripods quite some time ago so won't comment right now.
However, I can comment on freewebs b/c I have been using it for the last 2 weeks. I hate it. I had time to make a cup of tea while waiting for file uploads.

Yes, no ads, so you have to pay a price for that, nothing is free without a pricetag, and that price is slow, slow, slow.

It might improve in the future, but right now, not for me.

i agree tripod uk is better than FreeWebs.com and Tripod.com, but i prefer a host that you can do all HTML coding :)

FreeWebs.com its easy to use and the 'your site' looks much better, less ads etc

although many other free hosts offer better deals those looking to start a small website will find either of those very useful in the short term

Freewebs is definately much better than Tripod. I used to use freewebs a ton. But neither of them are good. You could probably find a better free host.

freewebs is better but they both lack a load of features. they are both okay for beginners but are missing ftp, php, mysql
