First off, dont even bother trying to host this on a shared plan... it just wont work (theres a good chance most hosts wouldnt be too impressed finding this on a shared plan either).

At the minimum get a cheap reseller.

The only way to block exe uploads (as far as i know) is to use a HTTP upload page, and block the extension there. Apart from deleting them manually, i dont think theres a way to block them from being uploaded.

Apart from ads? i don't think so...

The only way to force ads, is to either use a mod_layout hack in apache (which would require at least a VPS), or a .htaccess file, which could be easily removed...

One thing though, if you dont plan on giving FTP access, and people have to ask you to install anything, etc etc... why would people want to sign up with you instead of one of the other 200,000,000 free hosts out there? (Not bagging you or anything, just giving you something to think about)

If you are trying to be serious about this, then... do what LSCHosting said to do above. However, if you're just trying to host for a few of your friends, go ahead and do whatever you want ;)

You can block files extensions using .htaccess. Oh, and PLZ TELL ME HOW TO FORCE ADS THROUGH .HTACCESS!!! Even if it could be easily removed.

If you're asking me, you could've just made a PM. No, I do not know were you can find such an invitation, but I would suggest you search the 'net for one. It is just gmail invites, just less common.
