My name is Martin. A few months ago I took over ownership of the free webhosting service at http://po.gs/

Since the takeover, I have started things afresh on brand new servers and established a sustainable business model.

We are not like many free web hosts who advertise free web space, then find our growth to be unsustainable and are forced into closure. We have a sustainable business model which we hope will see us survive in the long term.

We not only offer free hosting (without forced ads), but we are an extremely friendly web host with a fantastic community on our very own forum. This is not a dead forum either - we have over 1,000 members there who chat about a range of topics from webdesign to whether they prefer tea or coffee!

Whilst we do see the forum as an important part of our site and overall service, we are NOT a host-per-post web host! The forum is completely optional, but we would love to have you onboard - we are a great community!

Please note the qualification criteria:

Must be a resident of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States of America.

Website must be in the English language.

Applications for free hosting accounts are done via a lottery system - we accept applications from Monday to Friday, then notify the winners over the weekend and setup their account.

We also offer premium hosting accounts with activation within 48 hours and no nationality or language requirements.

There are additional opportunities to be granted a free hosting account from the regular contests we hold on our message forum at:

Current contests include a Photoshop Competition, a Caption Competition and a 'Take a photo of yourself in a tree' Competition!

We are all about the fun aspect of hosting and the community it brings here at PO.GS - please drop by and take a look
