You know those green links that come up every now and then? Well, I'm having a hard time with them... how so?

1.] elitemediapop.exe (a type of adware program that's bad for your system) uses the same thing and I wonder if I have it still.

2.] Those things come up AFTER the page is finished loading, and delays me from scrolling down the page RIGHT AFTER your pages load.

You should either do ads (like the banners you already have) or the other. BUT NOT BOTH! It's really annoying. (Neoseeker.com has this on randomly, but not ALL THE TIME.)

Its called Intellitxt. The advertising is done via DHTML/Javascript and writes green links with two underlines when it finds keywords. You may still have spyware, but the green links with two underlines are just advertisements.

I am not a big fan of it either due to its buggy implementation, but this forum is here to make a profit for its owners. They could have chosen more intrusive advertising instead of intellitxt.

If you continue to have problems with the forum in a way that causes you not to be able to use the forum due to the problems you may want to look into software for your browser to disable the intellitxt javascript until it is fixed. Firefox has extensions such as AdBlock which can do this.

I hope this helps to explain things a bit.

It causes a lot of problems, not just with browsing. In my opinion it is NOT suitable for forums. I do NOT want my words highlighted.

Imagine a discussion on the fors and against smoking, alcohol, child porn (examples). You are dead set against any of those things and this unintelligent text highlights your words and advertises what you are against?

Well, I also noticed that when this ad program of yours highlights signature keywords, it only uses one underline for some reason.

instead of this intellitext whatever they could have put banners similar to the one at the top of the page in between some of the posts in the topics.

It is very annoying. I keep going to their site everytime I come here to turn it off... and it *always* returns.

Please get rid of this nonsense, it makes it very hard to read posts.

If it is causing too many problems and makes the forum unusable you can use the following:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1136/

Those together should be enough to remove the more intrusive forms of advertising that have been known to cause malfunctions.

I have no problem with making money from a forum and getting a fair return on investments, but I cannot support forms of advertising that cause technical problems with browsers making a website unusable.

Note: If you do not use Firefox then these will not help. You will need to find your own filtering methods.

for a forum that isn't that popular already, to throw ads in our face isn't going to help much...

Sorry for an old reply. But due to both noScript and Adblock's behaviour, DeviantART's new gallery system will glitch and not show anything beyond page two of any kind of gallery (favorites included.) These double underlined links from before now are happening here again, granted, it's faster for me now due to better computer and cable internet, but it's annoying. They're also red now instead of green. I know I don't have spyware/adware this time.

Holy cows at the superbump. haha.

Had it automated replies, but I've been using adblock to block intelitext for a long time.

Like I said, BOTH cause deviantART's new gallery system to fail. I'm not going back to SA though. What's even worse, is that when I roll over the text, a sound effect plays. -_-
