I'm contacting you on behalf of a charity music concert, Sail Aid. Cutting straight to the point, it is a charity run event, with all proceeds going to Sail 4 Cancer, our organising charity.
Last year was an absolutely massive success, raising well above the amount we was expecting, and most of all attracting a very vast number of happy looking people.
This years planning is already well underway, (the event isn't until 2nd September), and in keeping with last years event we have a budget of £0, in which to beg/borrow/steal any equipment we can find.
We’ve gone all high-tech this year, making a dedicated website even purchased the domain names ready, and now we’re just looking for a hosting sponsor who would be willing to provide us with hosting in return for a very nice advert at the bottom of the site, and a good mention at the event itself - we’d be more than happy to display any banners / posters etc you may have at the event, and all your staff would be more than welcome to attend of course!
Sailing attracts people from all walks of life, and we feel it would be a great business partnership, with both parties benefiting greatly.
More details of last years event can be found at (bear in mind it is last years information so it’s out of date) - : http://www.silverwing.org.uk/sailaid.pdf
As for actual space/bandwidth requirements I should expect we require very little. The site is fairly small, only containing the needed information, and is only slightly dynamic. PHP and MySQL would be a bonus, allowing our CMS system to run - also access to an online control panel so we can manage various web settings without having to cause to much trouble for yourselves would be ideal.
So I guess we're only looking at a couple of hundred MB space at the very, very top end, and 2 - 3GB bandwidth, though I think both of them are excessive for what we are going to need.
However we are hoping to extend the parternership further as the event extends, possibly this year, but definitely in years to come. Maybe some year soon we could broadcast it live online etc ... all ideas in the pipework.
Feel free to supply us with banners / promitional material nearer the time or mention any promotional ideas you have, we're more than open to discussion! Perhaps even an idea for the event itself.
We look forward to discussing this in greater detail, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions etc…!
Best wishes,
Gavin J. Pearce
