Update: FreeServing.com is now accepting customers.
Q: Why are you offering hosting for free? What's in it for you?
Have you found a really great free host here yet? I haven't. Most claim they do, but end up putting ads all over your site, have pop ups after pop ups, force you to meet minimum post quotas on their forums, or worst yet, give you only 50 megs to work with.
That's what FreeServing.com is all about. Truly great FREE hosting worth boasting about. 500 megs, 1 gig of bandwidth, mysql, php, control panel, fantastico, all the features of a regular paid host, everything except that it is FREE!
But why am I offering all this for free? Here's why
1. Imagine a free host that's really worth talking about. Imagine one that's as good for hosting domains, as Blogger is for blogs. FreeServing is not about making revenue, it's about creating a great popular service for the internet community!
2. I need to host my own websites and with all the spare capacity on the server, I've decided to give it back to the internet community. With added sponsorship from hosted ads on FreeServing.com, we hope to be able to fund the expansion
3. And yes, if it does become popular, I also hope my name will be etched in internet history -
Q: How long are you offering free hosting for?
FreeServing.com is ONLY about free hosting. I can guarantee that this service will be up and running for years to come - after all, I have to host my own sites somewhere. The first server is my donation back to the internet community. It IS expensive to maintain a server but even if we do not get enough sponsorship for more servers, at least this first server will be maintained.
Q: How do I sign up?
Post your domain name and description of your site in our
forum. We will be selecting 10 domains to start off with. Yes. To start off with, we are only offering accounts to people who will be using their own domain names.
Q: Why don't you have instant account activation?
Because it significantly opens up the service for abuse. Good things come to those who wait :p
Q: Why do you use the forum as your sign up process?
Because it already has a tried and tested sign up system and comes with the added bonus of being a forum
