Default Anyone Run Apache 2?
Hello,
With Apache 2 you can run a mod that puts an ad on every users website. Does anyone use Apache 2? Is it good? Does the mod_ext_filter work?

Thanks

isn't this the new method that xpanel is using? I think our dev team has looked into this a little but i never asked what they found as we are not activley developing for apache 2 yet.

I have been using apache2 since I started. Xpanel did not support it when I first started but now does. mod_ex_filter should work, it's in the apache docs http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod...xt_filter.html

I run xpanel with Apache 1.29 and mod_layout for ads which works just fine. Apache 2 with cPanel is still in beta so I'm not looking to upgrade just yet.

I use Apache2. For ads I just use php_value auto_prepend_file.

Ok pete so that mod_ext_filter works great? We just installed Apache 2 but it's not live.

xeepo, we don't use CPanel.

hostfree, yeah that's where I got the idea. They just suggest using it if you want to enforce ads, which I need to do.

Thanks for comments.

it will work on 95% of all php sites as long as they have gzip disabled from within the scripts. A few like photo galleries use this and i think can't be turned off.

We use mod_layout in our application and have no customers complaining about the ads not being on php sites except the image/photo galleries.

Yes but mod_layout places ads on all pages. And you have to have CPanel, correct?
