Thanks,

I do it because I really enjoy it :) also it can be marginally profitable if done right and is good for advertising other types of business

Marginally profitable huh? How? I mean, there are some free hosts out there that give free hosting with no ads. How do they makemoney? Or even make enough to pay for their servers?
Thanks,
Kyle

Well they can capture all the 404 error traffic which is usually a lot, or they can upsell to other products that they actually charge for. If they do none of these they can either pay the costs themselves or grow rapidly then go out of business which seems to be the trend :)

I have been providing ad-supported web hosting for the past 2 months and I think it's quite profitable if done correctly. :D

hmmm interesting.
ORiN...so you have done well with this? What type of ads do you put on the people's sites? How large?
They are usually 468x60 or 728x90 banners. It depends on the design of the sponsored website as I do things manually instead of through an automated process. I would say that I am profitable at the moment. :D

Haha especially when you got an active site. ;) And yes I do stalk you around these free webhosting sites:p ... j/k... looking through referrer logs. ;)
I can see how it can be profitable. http://fuitadnet.com buy a reseller. Cheapest there is $120 a year. An active site with GoogleAds can cover that in less then a month. Then it is pure profit from there. Then yeah your basically set. Get a nice design professional looking. And provide very good support and you'll get good business.
That's right and Imusion is one of my sponsored clients too. :D
I'm profitable too, however my main purpose is to promote my other services (witch generate the most income).
