Looking for a site that hosts FLV video files and allows direct hotlinking to them
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a free video hosting service that allows you to upload a video, but lets you directly link to the actual FLV (Flash Video) instead of just providing an embedding code or link to a player. I'm trying to use AdBrite's InVideo service which lets you watermark the videos with your own logo, places an ad on the video, and then lets other people take that video and embed it on their sites and you still get paid for the ad revenue when other people embed it. The problem is that InVideo doesn't host the video for you, it only has player functionality, so it requires a site that will host videos in only FLV format and directly link to them. So far, I haven't found any, making me think I might have to buy some hosting to do this.
The problem with buying my own hosting for this purpose is:
A) Videos take up more space and use more bandwidth
B) Most of the videos I want to play are clips I've downloaded from news sites (such as CNN, etc) and are sort of in the gray area of copyright. YouTube and most other big video hosting sites don't care about this, and some non-profit organizations are allowed to rebroadcast news clips (such as mediamatters.org), so it's not a that much of an issue, but I wouldn't want to go out and sign up for a host who then cancels my account because I have video clips on the site that are against their ToS/AUP.
C) I'm kind of broke at the point (which is why I'm trying to display the ads in the first place)
If anyone has any ideas or knows of some free video/storage sites that allow direct hotlinking, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
