Dear Hosts,

I am planning to launch a file hosting site (like rapidshare).

Firstly, I dont want to be impractical and understand that there will be significant costs to the host, and I would be more than happy to place hosts ads alongwith mine. After all, I am also to make money out of the side, and I would never mind sharing it with the host.

Now coming to the minimum requirements:

2 GB Disk Space
10 GB Bandwidth
Cronjobs
Cpanel prefered
MUST: NO OVERNIGHT DISAPPERING HOSTS PLZ !

However, I would expect the host to increase the quotas as and when needed, as it would only be after the site would be getting hits, and ultimately the hosts ads.

Frankly, I dont want to invest in paid hosting, so please dont reply saying that I should get paid hosting. I think the ads are enough to pay for that.

I would love to be hosted with someone who at least cares, and can provide me with a notice before closing the hosting company or restricting my account.

Please ask me any thing, if I dont sound clear !

Thanks in anticipation.

Muhammad Adil

May I ask, what kind of site will this be? Why cronjobs are required?

And is cPanel a required control panel or could it be something else?

I think the ads are enough to pay for that.

...

If so, why do not get a pay hosting by yourself !?!... It will save you time...

Allright,

First let me clarify that crons are needed to wipe files, as well as perform some other maintainece tasks.

I think yes, I should buy paid hosting. But to start with, I am planning a shared account. Can u ppl recommend something. Or better can some one host me for free in turn for advertisements.

Also, Cpanel is not required, any panel will be fine as long as I can work on it. I hve used plesk, directadmin and cpanel before.
