The quick and short definition:
RSS is a simple XML-based system that allows users to subscribe to their favorite websites. Using RSS, webmasters can put their content into a standardized format, which can be viewed and organized through RSS-aware software or automatically conveyed as new content on another website.
It's a not a bad idea, actually. vBulletin already has a built-in RSS function, so all the admin needs to do is enable it. Also, I don't think it's going to decrease traffic at all -- if anything, RSS feeds will probably increase traffic. ^^

vBulletin has its own RSS engine in it, of course at the moment freewebhostingtalk doesnt have it enabled,
it will look something like this http://www.resellerclubtalk.com/external.php
and then you can cut it down into catagorys like this http://www.resellerclubtalk.com/external.php?forumids=25
settings varied via ACP, i have this, although it isnt publicly available at the moment http://www.resellerclubtalk.com/rss/

So, any word on whether the admins could consider enabling RSS? WHT does it, so I don't see the harm of having it on FWHT as well. Also, since my browser is set to clear private data upon exiting (eg. cookies, cache), it's a bit time-consuming trying to keep track of new/unread posts as even some threads that I've read before get marked as unread the next time I log in. Having an RSS feed will make keeping track of new posts a lot easier. ^^
I think this will be very helpful, as Hraefn describes it.

I've added this onto a list of things to see if we can have sorted.
