View Full Version : Serious Free Web Hosting

First of all, I'd like to say that all free hosting services that I've used and also had an upgrade possibility, they've deleted my accounts (not only my websites, entire account). Luckly me, I always make backups, so I was always moving to another host (free). That will be 5gigs.com, 110mb.com and prohosts.org, lately. Probably (I'm pretty sure about it) they all do the same, cause nothing can be entirely free, after all, and after they see some user used their services for free without upgrading, the account deletion is the best solution they can think of to get rid of him/her.
Also, like to say that I never broke any of their TOS and the prohosts was actually banner supported, so they did earn something from me, after all; the 110.mb used redirection of half of the sites visitors (e.g. site.com actually leads to a page containing the link to 110mb.com, only www.site.com (http://www.site.com) leads you to the site.com).
But, I'm far from my initial question (idea) now, so I make it short:
Please tell me of any free serious hosting service you use and how long you've been using their services.
I really can't afford to pay right now for a profesional hosting, but I would if I could.
Thank you!

I've been on over 100 free hosting accounts in the last four years because they close down or stopped offering free hosting. I can only give you 75 names of the hosts, if you ask me.
So I decided to run my own host to make up for the lack of good free ones on the market.

Yeah, if you want some done right...
I'm trying to learn how to host my site on my personal comp and just installed windows server now, but until then, I'd be happy to find a free host that don't delete users account, even if banner supported, only to keep their promise :)

I think you've misunderstood what FreeWebHostingTalk is all about — this place is a forum for the discussion of all aspects of free web hosting. FWHT itself doesn't provide any service other than a venue for free web hosting providers and their prospective clients to get together and talk about — what else? — free web hosting.
That said, I don't think you're likely to find any provider willing to give out servers for free. ^^

wattaman, services like Tripod, Geocities, and T35 are very old - and because of that, likely very stable. However, at least with the first two, the feature set is very limited.
You may be interested in the services we (http://www.freezoka.com) offer - the service itself hasn't been up long, but I've got 3+ years in the hosting industry now.

You really shouldn't complain... I pay for my hosting and it's not really much at all. Do you have a job or are you just some young kid trying to act like a web designer? You can get a year of hosting for under $75 which is only about a quarter of what someone working for minimum wage makes in a week... You get what you pay for and if you cant afford that then I think you should just give up with the web design hobby... But that's my opinion. Good luck.

I've been using webhosting-for-free.com (http://webhosting-for-free.com/) for about one and half year, seems to be OK. free registration had been stopped for a while, but it registers again (they joint to axspace.com (http://www.axspace.com/)), email me if you need further information.
