Illegal Servers

Hi

I am looking at the servers from servermatrix.com and I am wondering how i would stay legal, what if someone uploaded a file without me knowingt, would i be in trouble and how can I stop this from happening?

In which case, you will need to do checks to make sure that people don't upload them.

Yes, you could be in trouble - in fact, servermatrix could suspend you or your server could be blacklisted, depending on the offence.

Just had an email from servermatrix saying that I would not be in trouble, infact heres the exact responce

You would be covered by the DMCA regulations, and as long as you act,
and remove the content when it is brought to your attention, you would
not be liable for the initial upload.

I've had this happen and I'm hosted with ServerMatrix\ThePlanet... they send an E-mail to you and you have 24 hours to remove the offending content from your server and let them know. As long as you do that you're safe. There are extreme cases where the FBI will confinscate your server though, just hope that doesn't happen :)
