Hello,

I'm new in here.
If someone know's a lot of this business and would like to help,
please answer me on this question.
AMD Sempron 2400
512MB DDR Ram
40GB HDD
cPanel
PHP 4.3.11
MySQL 4.0.23
PostgreSQL

I plan to give this packs:
150MB Hosting
10GB Monthly Transfer
Unlimited Subdomains
Unlimited Email Accounts
Unlimited FTP Accounts
Unlimited MySQL Databases
Unlimited PostgreSQL Databases
1 Domain
Option to use domain that exist or using subdomain.

There will be HelpDesk online and Online Registrations.
It's will include Fantastico.

How many accounts can i have on this server,
and where can i publish my free hosting to get some registrations?
Because im from Israel, and in Israel servers prices are something like 1000$ for this kind of server. But, there is no bandwidth limitations, there is 1000Mbit private connection to each server.

Please answer me I know how to make the server fast and secure him,
but I want to get answers from the experts.

Sorry about my bad English.
Thanks,
Nissim Cohen

Hi Nissim,

Your weaknesses aren't going to be space or bandwidth but, processor and ram.

AMD's Sempron series of processors are the budget models meaning they aren't as fast and won't hold up as well under stress. Also only 512MB of ram is going to hurt you because the system won't have as much ram to cache into.

Just monitor your server closely and ensure that the load averages don't skyrocket. ;)

OK,
Thanks man.
I know that bandwidth and space arent used too much,
but the PHP, MySQL and PostgreSQL are blowing the system.

If I host only HTML files, I know I can have on this server atleast 2000 accounts.

Thank you very very much man,
Nissim Cohen

If you can - try to get some more RAM memmory (to have at least 1 GB - best if better).
As LP-Trel mentioned - most problems may cause your processor - MySQL + PHP eats LOTS of resourcee.. especially when your users install "not so perfect" PHP CMS' or forum boards (like phpBB + hacks)..
If you will monitor all your resources usage, and lots of your uusers won't use PHP && MySQL.. U can get at least 1000 accounts.. if most of them would use phpBB - no more than 500 (without MySQL errors..)

I have the same server.

200-300 users at the forum should be OK.
