The requests i'm getting....

Ok, this is my problem;

I have gotten (this is not big to you probibly), but 21 unique hits in under an hour for requests, and I JUST started to advertise my site tonight. These are the referring links i'm getting from my stats...

Yet, all of those pages dont work for me, and they seem to be chinese? What's up with that? I have gotten 44 new requests in the last, ~5 hours. Is someone on a proxy or something? I recored the IP when they do submit, and they are different.....

Is someone spamming requests ?

Chinese forum sites, its sad that they spread so fast to these sites.

Anyway, these people will just sign up for hosting and not even use it most of the time.

All of the IP's the requests are different, So i have 86 uniques in under ~5 hours.. Most of the IP's are from the range

Anyways, 65 New accounts in under 5 hours. >.<

This is getting insaine, i'm getting a request every 2 minutes. And i have to set up the account in WHM by hand. :bawling:

Check the referer and then make the call if to setup the account or not. I wouldn't set most of those up if I had a gun to my head. :D

I also got hits from those in the first days i started the bogdana.org hosting. After 3 months the number of requests from china lowered. From around 60 per day it came down to 3-4 per day.
For me it was easy to sort the requests since most of them didn't complete the form correctly or put a valid site.
Sometimes i think that posting for hosting is the best way....

What's amazing to me is that they allready have "review" sites up for me on the Chinese sites. And it's funny, because the first+last name field they have to fill out, i've gotten 5+ John Smith's and like some dsf98sd0f, and xxxxxx. hah.

Yeah, you'd think they'd try a little bit harder to make up some names that sound real at least.

I think they assume the system is automated, so that it's not likely someone would actually be reading the signup information.

I think a good idea would be to display a huge message saying (for non automated free hosts): ALL REQUESTS VERIFIED BY HAND, in several different languages...

get something automated like xPanel and then only activate the good looking accounts with everything filled in, and scap the rest. Banning those IP ranges for a few days until things cool off may also be a good idea.
