Notepad. Seriously. Notepad is great for editing sites if you know what you're doing. I have had Dreamweaver for years, but find that 99.99% of my time is spent in the code editor mode.

CodeAnywhere is another good editor. They do have a free version.

For fast edits - Just HTML I stick with NotePad++

If it's more complicated and I'm making changes in a ton of files, I use Visual Studio

Code Anywhere is very good, Notepad++ is another alternative, however I'd recommend the prior.

Right, I'm also using Notepad++ for some simple code editing. My website is using Wordpress CMS so it's not required to change much in code.

Personally like using Adobe Brackets, smooth interface with multiple designs (black is good as you'll probably end up staring at the screen for hours on end!).
Has plugins that you can use to customise, such as FTP connection directly in the application and tools like Dash for referencing syntax directly.

Notepad ++ and sometimes the cPanel text editor
