Default SSL, Is it right for you?
Is it now? SSL is big if you sell something from you're website. But as of the start of 2017 Google has taken it a big step further. Chrome can mark unencrypted sites with a red "X," but only as an optional feature for now, how much farther for Internet Explorer and Firefox? Not Every E-Commerce Site Needs SSL. If you use Paypal or another third party payment gateway and all the sensitive data is being processed at the gateway's website then you likely do not need an SSL Certificate.

What is SSL? SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral.
What are you're thoughts on SSL? Did you buy one? Did you get one free?

SSL is almost a must in this day and age. To be honest, the majority of websites don't really need SSL, but with Google, and Firefox, and others penalizing non-SSL websites, it really is a must.

I think the day of paid SSL certs. is pretty much over though, with the advent of Let's Encrypt, and cPanel's built in SSL functionality through Comodo. Not really a reason for most people to buy a SSL these days.

Great input bud. I so agree. I have seen so many ways now to get it with Let's Encrypt being the top one.

And with Wildcard SSL coming in 2018, it's only going to get better!

SSL is more than just a technical tool to provide security for transactions; it is a trusted name in security. When customers see the SSL icon, the customers are reassured that their financial information is safe and secure. It is the best way to gain customers confidence and boost your brand.

SSL is one of the most essential things a website should have. Visitors like it, Google likes it and most of all - it makes all the data transfers secure. Don't devaluate the need for a proper SSL

Problem I see tho; there is a lot of bad people out there that will still use the SSL and make their site out to steal.
