I have signed up for serviceuptime.com, they give you one free check (every 30mins) and it gives out some good stats to the public about your uptime. They also have premium plans you can upgrade to as well. Just thought I would post this in the resources section as it is a good resource for free web hosts!

host-tracker allows 2 monitors for free. I think it is the best !

pingdom.com is the best monitoring server I have used so far. Lots of features and it can check every minute.

if you're talking about host-tracker, I've been using them since 2004~2005, and I never had a problem, I was even a node on their network at a point of time.
