It appears that you may have problems with your email setup. One common mistake that we warn about is using the email server on the same box as the only alert destination.
As for the claim of unanswered emails, we answer *every* email. Even if we might not want to because of the tone of the email. At some point, if the user refuses to accept the answer, then, it is true, we will eventually put an end to the pain. But, never on the first email.
If an initial inquiry did not receive a reply, then the email never got to us.
edit: some users try to reply to the unmonitored system email account. those messages get bounced. too many people using auto-vacation messages telling the server that they are on vacation.
